This action packed program has something for everyone! Each day students will investigate a new group of animals and learn about their behaviors. Students will use the information they learn to explore all parts of Southwick’s Zoo.
ADVENTURE and ECO-SYSTEMS
Grades 4, 5 and 6

This program is a hands on experience. Students explore all the animals at the zoo using climate zones as their tools.
INTRODUCTION TO ANIMAL ECOLOGY
Grades 1 and 2
July 22nd – July 26th
9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
$140 Members / $165 non-Members
This half day program is designed to introduce the basics of animal ecology, including physical differences between different classifications of animals, adaptations to changing environments and interaction between animals.
TEEN ZOOLOGY
Grades 7 and 8
August 5th – August 9th
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
$325 Members / $375 non-Members
This is an excursion program for teens who are interested in careers related to animal care or zoology. Possible trips include:
- Tufts Veterinary School
- Whale Watch
- Blackstone River Cruise
- Day at Southwick’s Zoo
- Kennel Visit
- New England Owl Exploration Day
