Learning meets fun with our Wild Adventure Summer Programs. We offer day programs for students in grades k-9 featuring daily interactive activities, exposure to over 115 species of wild and exotic animals in Southwick’s Zoo, over 200 acres of wetlands, forests, and native habitats to explore, arts and crafts!

Adventures and Ecosystems – Grades 4,5,6

June 27-July 1
9:00am-4:00pm

Non-Members: $335 / EARTH Member: $295
This program focuses on ecosystems. Students will learn about about how living things interact with each other and their environment through hands on activities.

 

Introduction to Animal Ecology – Grades K & 1

July 5-8

Non-Members: $160 / EARTH Member: $135
This shorter, 4 day program for younger children provides a fun basic introduction to animal ecology. Students will learn about living things here at the zoo!

 

Animal Behavior – Grades 2 & 3

July 11-15
9:00am-4:00pm

Non-Members: $335 / EARTH Member: $295
Learn about why animals do the things they do! Students will explore a different group of animals each day during this program, and learn about their behaviors.

 

Adventures and Ecosystems – Grades 4,5,6

July 18-22

This half day program for younger children provides a fun basic introduction to animal ecology. Students will learn about living things here at the zoo!

 

Teen Zoology – Grades 7, 8, & 9

The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA is one of the fascinating locations our Teen Zoology campers visit.

August 1-5
9:00am-4:00pm

Non-Members: $395 / EARTH Member: $350
This program is for older kids in grades 7-9 who want to learn more about careers related to zoology and animal care. In addition to spending time in Southwick’s Zoo, students will attend field trips to other New England facilities. Trips may include:

  • Tufts Veterinary School
  • Ecotarium and Planetrium
  • Whale Watch
  • Blackstone River Cruise
  • Kennel Visit
  • New England Owl Exploration Day
  • More options TBA

 

Animal Behavior – Grades 2 & 3

August  8-12
9:00am-4:00pm

Non-Members: $335 / EARTH Member: $295

Program Requirements:

Water bottle, lunch, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat/visor, backpack (to include extra clothing such as socks, t-shirt, sweatshirt, old sneakers, rain coat)

    I’m interested in the summer programs but I have a question when you are telling what grades the program is for are you referring to the grade they just finished or the grade they will be going In into in September.
