Stargazing 101: Discover the Night Sky

Unlock the mysteries of the night sky!
Join us at the EARTH Nature Center for an introductory evening into the fundamentals of astronomy, led by Wheaton College professor Dr. Dipankar Maitra.
The program will begin with an indoor presentation on “Total Solar Eclipses and Why They Are So Important (and Cool)”, followed by guided telescope viewing focused on the waxing crescent moon and other prominent evening celestial objects. Guests will have the opportunity to “Ask an Astronomer” any of your burning questions about the cosmos.
Hot cocoa and snacks will be available.
We recommend wearing warm clothing, as the majority of the program will be outside.
This is an all-ages program. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
